Monthly Profile

Age: Nine | Ethnicity/Race: Canadian/White

Always the jokester, Daniel has a great sense of humour and aims to make those around him laugh. At 9 years old, Daniel is an engaging young boy who likes arts and crafts, playing video games, and spending time outdoors. Daniel likes trying new things and likes to be challenged!

“It was the way you laughed... I knew I wanted that in my life."

– R.M. Drake

Personality Academics

Daniel has a very playful and charming personality. He is also active, and is always willing to participate in activities or head outdoors. Quite curious about the world around him, Daniel is eager to learn. He can be emotive, and it is important to him that he shares his thoughts and feelings.

Daniel enjoys school and consistently works towards getting on grade level. Daniel receives assistance in school through his Individual Education Plan (IEP) and is supported by educational assistants in the classroom.

Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Daniel needs assistance in continuing to develop positive communication skills and healthy attachment. Due to prenatal exposure to alcohol, he requires a family that can provide support and assistance with some basic daily tasks and with long term developmental growth. He is currently participating in counselling and is involved in psychological and developmental services. Daniel would benefit from an attachment-based parenting style.

Daniel would do best in an active two-parent family, who have a strong support system. Daniel will likely benefit from being the youngest or only child in the home. He would also need to continue with community supports and ongoing connections with his biological family and foster family. A family with an understanding of prenatal alcohol exposure and who can be strong advocates for Daniel is being sought.

Openness Questions?

Daniel has openness with his siblings and birth mother. It is unsure at this time what access will look like long-term. It will also be important to maintain a connection with a former foster family that he has a strong relationship with.
