Monthly Profile

Age: Thirteen| Ethnicity/Race: Canadian/White

Eli and Oliver are two brothers who are also best friends! Although their interests may be different, they always make time for each other and support what the other brother is interested in. Eli is a fan of all things Elvis! He even dresses up as Elvis for Halloween every year. Eli does enjoy bike riding and fishing, and needs encouragement to go exploring outside. His goal is to be a truck driver when he grows up and he is already practicing his driving skills (with toy and LEGO cars of course)!

Age: Twelve| Ethnicity/Race: Canadian/White

Oliver on the other hand, loves to be outside as much as he can! He describes himself as “active” and enjoys swimming, skating, baseball and riding his bike with his brother! Both boys are always interested in an adventure and exploring new places and new experiences is sure to bring a smile to their faces.

“Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero.”

– Marc Brown

Personality Academics

Oliver has a kind heart and a lot of love to give to the adults around him. He lights up in adult company and thrives when an adult is paying attention to him in particluar. He is enjoying his growing independence and likes to help with laundry, recycling, setting the table and washing the dishes after a meal!

Eli has been described in so many words: creative, caring, determined, compassionate and energetic being just a few of them! He loves one-on-one attention from the adults in his life and is working hard on transitioning those learned social skills into his interactions with other children his age.

Oliver is an enthusiastic learner who always gets excited when he has an academic success, particularly when it is an area he has been struggling in.

Eli is also a keen learner, just like his brother! He was a “Special Helper” on the school bus last year and really enjoyed having that bit of extra responsibility.

Both Eli and Oliver benefit from their Individual Education Plans at school that ensures they have the structure, predictability and special supports they need to succeed in the classroom!

Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Although the brothers are not living together right now, they are excited about the day when they can move into their new home together! While they sometimes have a bit of a sibling rivalry, Eli and Oliver benefit from adults making sure their play is appropriate. Both brothers take medication to help them with their focus, both at school and at home. Oliver also currently attends speech therapy and this would need to be continued after he is adopted.

A family that loves to explore and be physically active are what Eli and Oliver are asking for! Families with a strong support network who are also ready to give these boys lots of attention and care are being sought. Eli and Oliver will need lots of attention and care and will need a parent(s) who is ready and able to provide it! Both boys benefit from daily routines and expectations that are reinforced and followed through on.

Openness Questions?

Eli and Oliver are planning to have contact with their sister and birth parents after they are adopted. Families who are ready to support and facilitate this contact would be ideal.
