Bobby has vibrant red hair and a personality to match! This athletic boy will be the first to try new outdoor challenges such as rollerblading, skateboarding and playing hockey. He's definitely not afraid to test the newest ramps at the local skatepark! He also has a very creative side that shows through in his art projects, storytelling or LEGO creations (which he proudly shows off)!

These things are fun and fun is good.”
– Dr. Seuss

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Personality Academics
He loves being the centre of attention and thoroughly enjoys time spent with adults. Bobby can be guarded with sharing his hopes and dreams, but once a trusting relationship is developed, he will openly engage in meaningful conversations. He has been discussing adoption and is beginning to see this as an option for himself. Bobby is currently in a specialized school program; Day Treatment (Section 23 class) in order to best support his needs within the school setting. He does have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to assist with areas of need; reading and writing, attention and self-regulation. Bobby has made significant progress in a number of areas within this classroom and has positive relationships with his school support staff.
Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Bobby is beginning to develop strong, positive relationships within his current home. He is learning to trust adults and feel safe both at home and in school. When Bobby’s emotional and physical well-being are taken care of, he has the ability for positive growth and development. Bobby has ongoing daily support to assist him with self-regulation. A lot of the work being done with/for Bobby is through his care providers, and the consistent messages of care and feeling of safety that they provide for Bobby. He also attends counselling with one of his care providers and he is beginning to trust his therapist enough to talk about some of his experiences.

Bobby would do best in a two-parent family that have an understanding of attachment and trauma and will be able to separate Bobby’s attachment needs from perceived behavioural choices. He will need a family that can spend time with him and create a safe space around him. Bobby would love a kind, patient and loving family. He understands his own needs and he will do best with parents who will stand beside him through good and hard times.
Openness Questions?
Bobby has a relationship with his birth mother currently though weekly phone contact and visits approximately every six weeks. Some form of contact may wish to be considered once he is adopted as Bobby may wish to maintain this relationship (via letters and pictures) as he grows. Please see Bobby's profile on the AdoptOntario Waiting Children list with the case ID 15993.
