ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Personality Academics
Easy to engage, Dee has a polite and energetic personality. His love of video games shines through as he tells you about the newest level that he has conquered. A lover of the arts, Dee enjoys singing in choir and enthusiastically plays drama games at school. Dee shows off his caring and sensitive side by playing with the pets in his foster home, and he loves to build meaningful relationships with adults, as well. Dee does well behaviourally in school. He has some learning needs around reading, verbal expression and writing, but he does well with listening in class, participating in classroom discussions and completing his work. Dee has some difficulty with social skills and is working on sustaining peer relationships.
Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Dee is a very literal thinker. He does well when given clear directions and when he feels supported. Due to some traumatic early life experiences, Dee has many unresolved questions about himself and his family. Dee is working with a therapist to process his past experiences. Additionally, he can have challenges in reading social cues, which causes stress to his peer relationships.

Dee would do well in a home where he receives individualized attention. He does require a lot of detailed direction in a supportive, nurturing way. A family with a knowledge base of attachment, or the willingness to learn, is being sought for Dee, as he has challenges around feeling stable, safe and secure.
Openness Questions?
Dee has a relationship with his younger brother, who resides with their mother, and this relationship is very important to him. An adoptive family will need to support this relationship and navigate the emotions this contact brings up for Dee. Please see Dee's profile on the AdoptOntario Waiting Children list with the case ID 12442.
