ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Personality Academics
Dean is an outgoing, friendly child with a great sense of humour. He easily engages with others and absolutely loves conversation! Dean enjoys trying new foods, however, he is not a fan of coleslaw, bean salad and zucchini. He enjoys homemade baked treats and this is a sure way to brighten his mood! Dean is currently in a regular classroom in a public school supported by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for his learning needs. He usually submits his work on time and has demonstrated the ability work independently, although he is encouraged to pay attention to detail and complete his work with care. The school is currently working with Dean on strategies to help him stay on task, especially in a group setting. Dean is very social, but does needs support in maintaining positive peer relationships.
Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Dean has had some difficult early life experiences. He does have behaviours that can escalate quickly if he is upset or frustrated. The foster parents are working with him on appropriate boundaries and filters. Routine and consistency are extremely important for Dean for his everyday functioning and success.

Dean would do best with skilled adoptive parents who can provide a safe, secure, structured, dependable and nurturing home. These adoptive parents will need to advocate for Dean within the school and community, and be willing to work with formal supports to ensure he reaches his full potential.
