Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Mac is a healthy, high energy youngster. Currently he is on a Gluten-free and dairy-free diet which has helped with significant weight gain and overall health. Under consultation with Mac’s pediatrician, a trial course of medication was started to assist with managing impulse control and hyperactivity. Mac is supported by a number of service providers including an ENT, Naturopath and pediatrician. He receives Occupational Therapy and physiotherapy while at school, and he is currently having an updated Occupational Therapy assessment completed to assist in regulating his behaviors.

Mac would benefit from a nurturing home that can provide a high degree of structure and routine, as well as patience and understanding. Parents will need to be strong advocates for the many services that he will require. Parents will need to feel comfortable opening their home to the service providers needed to help Mac be successful.
Openness Questions?
Mac has a maternal great-grandmother who would like to continue some type of contact with him upon adoption placement. She resides in an assisted living home, which Mac visits regularly, and he is well loved by the seniors. Mac also visits with his paternal grandmother every six weeks. Theese relationships are very important to Mac and he would benefit from continued contact post placement.
