Eldon is described as kind and friendly and is happiest when he is helping others. He loves animals and hopes to have his own pet one day. Eldon is in grade five and attends a specialized classroom that provides additional support for success. As a part of his school day, Eldon will sometimes join the mainstream classroom to participate in lessons and has enjoyed this experience greatly. Maintaining focus around other children can be a challenge for Eldon, however he is currently learning about appropriate social skills and healthy relationships. Eldon makes use of sensory tools and a sensory calming room when needed. Eldon’s favourite subjects are reading and math. He is currently attending school for half of the day, although it is anticipated that this will transition to a full day in the next few months. Eldon is progressing well towards working at his grade level.
Special Considerations Matching Considerations

Eldon currently receives support from a pediatrician, who monitors his medication, and a children’s mental health centre. The Society is currently seeking out other supports in the community to reach all of Eldon’s needs.

Eldon is eagerly awaiting his forever home. He wishes to find parents who will give him a sense of belonging and permanency. He enjoys spending time with his caregivers and can easily attach to them. His adoptive parents will need to have the time and patience to focus on Eldon as the only child in their home, as he requires a high level of support and supervision. Adoptive parents will need to work in collaboration with the supports in Eldon’s life, as well as advocate for other resources that can meet his needs as he grows. Eldon requires participation in consistent activities and his Forever Family must commit to engaging him throughout the week. Parents with a calming presence will be favourable for Eldon.
Openness Questions?
It is important for Eldon to have contact with his birth family. Openness will take place at Eldon’s request. Openness usually occurs as visits around holidays and through phone calls.
